Arcs Express
Arcs Express funicular
Bourg Saint Maurice lies at an altitude of 840m. Its ski resort, Les Arcs, with its first site, is located at 1,600m.
To link the village railway station to the resort, a cable car was first installed in 1974. In 1989, it was replaced by a fully electric funicular on a 2,875-meter-long line featuring a central passing loop and numerous viaducts to cross the Isère River.
The elevation gain and gradients are uneven, with a maximum gradient of 39% and an elevation gain of 810 meters.
The funicular is equipped with two separate cars, each capable of carrying up to 270 passengers.
