SS4P PSD, platform screen doors with safety interlocks
SS4P PSD systems are platform screen doors fitted with a control and signalling system based on safety-critical controllers. These controllers have been used for many years in railway signalling (interlocking, signalling, level crossings, etc.) and offer a proven level of reliability, meeting the highest safety standards.
The integration of safety controllers into platform screen doors enhances operational and maintenance capabilities. This architecture offers greater flexibility, facilitates monitoring and diagnostics, and helps to optimise the availability of the installations throughout their lifecycle.
The installation of automated platform screen doors (PSDs) addresses many of the challenges facing rail transport. By securing the interface between platforms and tracks, they help to enhance the safety of passengers and staff, whilst improving the overall performance of the infrastructure.
The PSD SS4P systems address the key challenges facing railway stations and networks:
- to improve the safety of passengers and operational staff;
- to improve the management of train flows and the punctuality of services;
- to optimise the energy performance of interior spaces;
- improve the thermal and acoustic insulation of the platforms;
- to improve user comfort;
- to enhance the appeal of transport infrastructure;
- to streamline passenger flows when boarding and alighting.
Bespoke platform screen doors
To best address these challenges, we offer a range of bespoke loading bay doors, which can be fully customised to suit the specific environmental and operational requirements.
Technical specifications
- Resistance to a crowd-load of 3,000 N/m applied 1,100 mm above the floor, in accordance with NF P 01-013.
- Impact resistance of 700 J using a standard M50 bag (50 kg of tempered glass beads) in accordance with NF P08-301.
- Lifespan: 30 years and over.
- Temperature: between -25 °C and 55 °C (adjustable as required).
- Relative humidity: 5% to 90%.
- Electromagnetic compatibility: in accordance with EN 50121-4, EN 61000-6-2 and EN 61000-6-4. The front panel does not block the transmission of radio waves (e.g. no interference with 4G).
- Floor and ceiling fixings.
- Door leaf with a self-supporting four-sided frame.
- Frame: aluminium / steel.
- Adjustable width and height of the opening.
- Glazing: glass class 1-B-1 in accordance with EN 12600.
- Opening speed: 2 seconds per door (adjustable).
- Closing speed: 2.5 seconds per door (adjustable).
- Maximum closing force: 450 N.
- Maximum closing energy: 20 J.
- The doors must open in synchronisation with the underground doors.
- Low-voltage or extra-low-voltage power supply to the façade (230 V or 48 V AC).
- Reporting of door status (closed, locked, fault, etc.) to the monitoring system (and SCADA).
NB: The opening and closing speeds are not set to their maximum performance levels for obvious safety reasons. The speed curves can be adjusted to ensure smooth movement in line with the opening rate of underground station doors. Their speed is determined by the weight of the door leaves and the 20-joule limit.
- Recessed walkway lighting that can be disconnected.
- Advertising or information screens.
- Advertising screens and/or passenger information displays in swing doors.
- Advertising screens and/or passenger information displays in the transom.
Other options:
- VEC glazing or glazing with glazing beads.
- Marking and screen-printing on glass.
- RAL colours for aluminium profiles.
- High-performance RILSAN insulating coating.
