Train control system
CBTC systems are used in modern rail systems to improve the safety, capacity and efficiency of rail operations.
Their operation is based on several key principles, including:
- Real-time monitoring of trains’ position and speed using sensors
- Wireless communication between trains and the central rail traffic control system to minimise the risk of errors or collisions
- The use of advanced control algorithms to automatically guide trains along the tracks and improve the utilisation of available track space
- The integration of advanced safety features to monitor trains and railway equipment and prevent collisions
- Monitoring the condition of railway equipment and identifying maintenance issues to enable proactive maintenance management and improve the reliability of the railway system

Our comprehensive platform screen wall solutions consist of one or more platform door modules, their control units, a panic bar and platform end doors, which are themselves fitted with their own control units for use in the event of an emergency or for maintenance. They also include special swing doors for drivers.
How the control module works
The control module, also known as the platform screen door control system, manages several functions:
- The door opening control (SIL4)
- The door-closing command (SIL0)
- Door-closed signal (SIL 4)
- Door locking information (SIL 4)
The control module is adaptable; the choice of system architecture depends on the project’s requirements.
There are other ancillary functions, such as the management of manual modes, maintenance, etc.
The DCU is a component of this system and manages the following functions:
- Control of the door drive, which includes power control within the door leaves (SIL 2)
- Obstacle detection (SIL 2)
Our DCU is SIL 2 certified in accordance with EN 50129.
