Inclined elevator

The ski resort of Flaine is part of the Grand Massif ski area, with 139 runs and 62 lifts. The Flaine resort alone boasts 64 pistes and 24 lifts.

Stretching from 1580m to 1800m above sea level, free shuttles link the various districts, and 2 inclined elevators have been installed to move between the resort's 2 main levels, Flaine Forum and Flaine Foret.

The difference in height between the two neighborhoods is 70 meters, and the cliff is convex, so a straight line would have required considerable construction work. An articulated carriage in the form of an inclined elevator following the convexity of the cliff was therefore set up, able to accommodate up to 25 people.
