Roosevelt Island Tramway

This cable car was installed to connect the borough of Manhattan to Roosevelt Island, separated by the East River. It was initially a temporary solution until the installation of the metro line serving the island, but this cable car ended up lasting over time and is currently still active.

With a length of 960 meters, it has carried more than 26 million passengers since its opening.

We intervened when the only shuttle bus was replaced in 2010 by two parallel wide-track single-track cable cars.
