Cairo International Airport is located 22 km northeast of downtown in the Heliopolis district.
It is one of the busiest airports in Africa and a major hub thanks to its central location in the world. The airport has four terminals.
The installation of a mini-metro system provided a connection between the various terminals, the parking lots, and a shopping center.
Each of the two metro lines can carry up to 2,000 passengers per shuttle per hour.
